Seattle Pet Photographer | Meet Amooti!

For the last couple of days, I’ve been fostering the most wonderful and gentle lab/shepherd mix, named Amooti. She is 8 years old, LOVES to cuddle, and seems to get along great with everyone — kids, dogs, and cats!

We’ve gone on a couple long walks and she is just so amazing on the leash. She wags her tail at everyone who passes by and surprisingly, most people want to come over and say hi. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not sure what all of her commands are, but she knows some of the basics — “come,” “sit,” and “lay down.” She is also fully house trained and has all of her shots.

If you’re interested in finding out more about Amooti, she is listed on the Saving Great Animal’s website and you can easily get to her ad on Petfinder.com by clicking ——-> HERE.

She’s so regal and what a cool name! I love to see people adopt/foster an older animal since they don’t usually get as much attention. But personally I like them better because for the most part the hard work has been done ๐Ÿ™‚ She’s lucky to have you!

Good luck with the move! I’m moving across the country this summer so unfortunately I can’t drive back for my clients:-( I hope to fly back at least twice a year though to do a few weekends full of sessions. Yay for new places though!

Seattle Photographer | Happy Opening Day!

Happy Monday, Everyone! It was a lovely weekend up here in the Pacific Northwest, and I was lucky to spend part of it on the water participating in Opening Day festivities. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you’re not from around here, Opening Day marks the start of the boating season and is hosted by Seattle Yacht Club with a crew race, sailboat race, boat parade, and party. Pariticipants come from all over the Northwest including British Columbia and this event can be traced all the way back to 1895.

Seattle Yacht Club on Opening Day 2012

The weather this year was just so fantastic and it was great seeing all the boats that dressed up for the “Porthole to Paradise” theme. I really enjoyed seeing such a large turnout and I hope to attend the event next year too. ๐Ÿ™‚

IN CAMERA Workshop! | Seattle Portrait Photographer

Last Monday, I drove up to Leavenworth for a workshop with some of my favorite wedding photographers, Zach and Jody Gray!ย Zach and Jody are a very fun husband-and-wife duo who are spreading their knowledge around the country through theirย INCAMERA Workshopsย on how to achieve amazing portrait and wedding lighting. ๐Ÿ™‚

I feel very lucky that Zach and Jody happened to hold one of their latest workshops in my area and that I was able to attend the portion on off camera lighting. They broke down their process into just a few steps, which made it so easy to understand and remember how to use strobes in any sort of condition.

Special thanks to our models, Emily and Haley! You ladies are gorgeous and it was so fun working with you! Thank you so much for modeling for all of us workshop attendees!

Below are some of my favorite shots from the workshop ๐Ÿ™‚

I met up with Merlyn & Yvonne a little over a week ago at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle to take some engagement photos. They are such a fun couple and we had a great time admiring all of the interesting art as we walked around and enjoyed the incredibly warm weather. ๐Ÿ™‚

Merlyn & Yvonne, thank you for letting me photograph this special time in your lives. You’re such a beautiful couple, and I’m so happy for you two!
